OUR OFFERINGS TO GOD AND FOREIGN MISSIONS In an ongoing effort to teach and encourage stewardship in the Sunday school, each child in grades preschool - eighth grade will receive their own box of offering envelopes. The envelopes will last each child throughout the year, including the summer. The envelopes are dated for each week of the month. If your child did not receive their envelopes, please contact Sandy Barbercheck. Our congregation supports with prayer, financial resources, and gifts and talents the following: Rev. David and Rachel Baker; missionaries in Kazakhstan; Lutheran Blind Mission and Rev. David Andrus; Rev. Rudy and Dorothy Schaser's With God's Little Ones serving orphans from the aids epidemic in Uganda; Adopt--a-Student at Concordia Seminary, and several other ministries. Our Sunday school mission project this year will be the "adoption" through our financial support of children in third world countries. This year we will be continuing the support of two children through Compassion International. Our children include Jeieli Rendon Hernandez from Naucalpan, Mexico and also Belinda Navututu from Kenya. Our students will have the opportunity to not only support these two children financially with their offerings, but also to communicate with Belinda and Jeieli through cards, letters and pictures. We, in return, receive letters and updates from the children and Compassion International. The letters and pictures, as well as information about both children, can be found on the Sunday school bulletin board located in the hallway across from the Family Life Center. The
Sunday school staff feels this project will give our students an opportunity
to share with these children some of the earthly blessings they have
and also the message and love of Jesus Christ.
