Steven
H. Albers has been
pastor of Glendale
Lutheran Church since
April, 1979. Previously
he served at Christ,
Morgan City, LA (1970-1974)
and St. Pauls,
Sadorus, IL (1974-1979).
His year of vicarage
(internship) was at
Our Redeemer Lutheran
Church, Seaford, Long
Island, NY.
A
native of Decatur, IL,
he has graduated from:
Concordia Junior College,
Milwaukee, WI (1964);
Concordia Senior College,
Ft. Wayne, IN (1966);
and Concordia Seminary,
St. Louis, MO (1970).
Additionally, he received
a Master of Arts degree
in Speech Communication
from the University of
Illinois Champaign/Urbana
campus in 1983.
While serving
at Glendale Lutheran Church, Pastor Albers was also a guest
instructor in homiletics at Concordia Seminary and, more recently,
was editor of Concordia Pulpit Resources, a quarterly journal
published by CPH. He has also authored a book, Front Page Preaching
(CPH, 1998). Also, he is currently serving on the Board of Directors
for Lutheran Senior Services and is chairperson of the Pastoral
Care Committee.
Steve
and Cathleen (MacLeod)
were married in June,
1967. She is currently
a Nurse Practitioner
in Womens Health
and also serves as
facilitator of a breast
cancer support group
at St. Josephs
Hospital, in Kirkwood.
They have four children:
Jennifer (Mullersman);
Julie (McClanahan); Michelle;
and Ben. They are also
blessed with four grandchildren:
Katie (17) and Matthew
(15) Mullersman; and
Maggie (8) and Molly
(7) McClanahan.
